Patrick van Aanholt of Sunderland is set to join Crystal Palace for £14m

Patrick van Aanholt is leaving a relegation battling side Sunderland to join another slightly relegation battling side Crystal Palace.

According to Sky Sports sources, it was reported that Crystal Palace agreed a £14m transfer fee with Sunderland for Patrick van Aanholt.

Patrick van Aanholt plays for Netherlands. He has handed in a transfer request of the management of Sunderland and will now have a medical in London, Crystal Palace's home-ground after being granted permission to open contract talks with the London club.

We can only wish the The Dutch International a successful relegation battle with Crystal Palace, while Sunderland brainstorm and crack their heads on how to cope without him. Oops I forgot, they now have Joleon Lescott. Hopefully his experience can prove enough on the field. David Moyes isn't the manager cut out for relegation war.
