Two sporting legends crossed paths at Roland Garros on Sunday when Patrick Kluivert bumped into clay-court king Rafa Nadal.
Nadal, the favourite for the second major of the year, progressed to the last-eight of the French Open with a straight sets win over his compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut.
The victory over the 17th seed maintained Nadal's impressive record of never having lost to a fellow Spaniard at Roland Garros.
And after the match, former Barcelona and Ajax striker Patrick Kluivert congratulated the 31-year-old on reaching the fourth round.
Kluivert uploaded a photo on Instagram of him congratulating the 14-time grand slam winner with the caption: 'Congrats, great match.'
Nadal is a big Real Madrid supporter but he seemed pleased to see the former Barcelona striker, who scored three La Liga goals against Madrid during his illustrious career.
Kluivert currently works as the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain and it was in the French capital that he saw Nadal.
Roland Garros has been a happy hunting ground for the Spaniard, who has dropped only 20 games in his first four matches at this year's French Open.
He is hunting his 10th title at Roland Garros and his 15th major title. Nadal celebrated his 31st birthday on Saturday and he looked supremely confident in his victory over Bautista Agut on Sunday.
