Taiye Taiwo Sends Emotional Message To Fans After Leaving Helsinki HJK

Former Super Eagles left back Taiye Taiwo has sent an emotional message to fans of HJK Helsinki after leaving the Finnish club following their final game of the Finnish league season.

The 31 year old joined Helsinki half way through the 2014/2015 season and then signed a year extension at the beginning of the year.

Taiye Taiwo and fellow Nigerian Nnamdi Odumadi helped the team finished second in the just conclued season. See his message after the cut...


First of all, it a thank you to the football club for Helsinki" not just the director, not just the medical staff,the coaching staff ' the players, the suppporters ,it's all of you....if asked to write a script for my career 12 years ago, there is no way I would,ve been able to dream up this journey, I started here at the end of this ride and look back in awe of what l,ve experienced. The wins losses will be remembered , but what I,ll remember most are the people:the fans inside sonera stadium and out the staff and coaches who pushed me and held me together,the teammates) and even opponents)who will be lifelong friends,shares my ups and downs with family and close friends, and most importantly, the snapshots of my kids growing up and reading in watching Dad work.that is what I will cherish the most.today I say of good bye to the football club of Hjkhelsinki " I want to thank the club for helping me become a better footballer and making me and my family feel at home during my time here.After this year I can only say thank you the club, to the fans that have supported me since the first Day I wore this this jersey and of course thank you and good luck to my teammates, who helped me settle in since day one not only as teammates but as friends. I take with me many memories, lessons and great moments that will live with me forever. Yes , it is time to say goodbye and face new challenges.i am moving forward to a new country,to another great club with amazing fans and I am looking forward to it but the time spent with you,as well as the happiness and love that I felt there will always stay with me.
