The Super Eagles defeated Nigeria Professional Football League side Akwa United 3-0 in a friendly game inside the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Wednesday amid floodlight failure.
The friendly was a preparatory game ahead of Saturday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania. Goals from Brown Ideye, Nosa Igiebor and Odion Ighalo sealed the win for the Eagles.
The Eagles went 2-0 up in the first half thanks to goals from Ideye and Igiebor. And in the second half, Ighalo made it 3-0 from the penalty spot.
The Super Eagles started with Ikechukwu Ezenwa in goal, with Shehu Abdullahi, Elderson Echiejile, Porto youngster Chinedu Awaziem and Jamiu Alimi in defence.
Echiejile, who just completed a loan move from Monaco to Standard Liege, was sent off in the second half for two yellow cards.
Musa Muhammed, Nosa Igiebor and Wilfred Ndidi started in midfield, while Rio 2016 star Imoh Ezekiel, Brown Ideye, and Victor Osimhen formed the attack.
William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Ogenyi Onazi and Ighalo all came on in the second half.
The match was however abruptly halted with 20 minutes to go as the stadium floodlights did not come on.
