It’s certainly been a while since Kanu hung up his boots and the Nigerian cleared showed his age with a hilarious gaffe at the beginning of Saturday’s Legends game between Arsenal and Milan.
Quite incredibly, the former Gunners star wasn’t aware he was on the bench for the charity match and took to the field for kick-off before being rather awkwardly led off the pitch by Gilberto Silva – much to the amusement of Arsene Wenger who grinned from the sidelines.
Kanu had the last laugh, though, scoring with one of his first touches to break the deadlock when he was finally given the nod to play mid-way through the first-half. Take that, Wenger!
A bit of a delayed start as @papilokanu didn't realise he was on the bench!
