Pochettino calls Isco as Tottenham prepare swoop

Mauricio Pochettino has identified Isco as an ideal signing for Tottenham and already been in touch with the Real Madrid outcast, AS reports.

The Spain international is frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane, with multiple players ahead of him in the pecking order.

Isco would like to stay but the awareness that he will not play much could drive him off, with Pochettino personally contacting the 24-year-old to persuade him to join Tottenham.

However, he is not believed keen on a move to the Premier League despite the lure of Champions League football at Spurs, and could join Malaga on loan instead.
