Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh and captain, Vincent Enyeama has continued with their war of words which started during the former’s stint as handler of Nigeria’s senior national team.
Oliseh clashed with Enyeama during his early days as coach of the Super Eagles, leading him to strip the goalkeeper of the captaincy. Following the stripping of his captaincy, Enyeama resigned from the national team.
The recent war of words resumed following Oliseh recent outburst where he revealed how he fell out with the former Super Eagles goalie.
Oliseh through a post on his websites reveals that his first official act as coach of the Super Eagles was to meet with Enyeama in Lille, France where he plays. According to the post, everything was going fine until Enyeama lost his mum just before 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers away at Tanzania.
Despite appeals to honour the game before his funeral, Enyeama refused which led to their falling out according to the former Super Eagles coach.
“I was shocked as we had an agreement, we needed his experience, leadership and I was aware he was yet to miss a training session for his club side talk less of a league game,”Oliseh writes on his website.
The pair would later argue at a Super Eagles camp in Belgium before Enyeama resigned from the Super Eagles. Enyeama was however not happy over Oliseh’s comments and took to Twitter to blast him.
