Manchester United have added a friendly fixture against Galatasaray in Sweden to their pre-season schedule.
Former manager Louis van Gaal had originally compiled a shortened fixture list for the summer months to mirror the lighter workload which he put his players through ahead of the 2015-16 season.
But following the Dutchman's sacking in May, new boss Jose Mourinho has agreed to an extra fixture on June 30 against the Instanbul-based giants after United return from their International Champions Cup trip to China.
As part of the ICC United will take on Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on July 22, which could see Henrikh Mkhitaryan in direct opposition to his current club should he complete a transfer to Old Trafford in the coming days. They follow that with the first Manchester derby to take place outside of the UK against rivals City in Beijing three days later.
The Galatasaray fixture will take place in the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg at 19:30 local time, and will be followed on August 3 by Wayne Rooney's testimonial match at Old Trafford against Everton.
Rooney this summer celebrates 12 years as a Manchester United player after his £25 million switch from the Toffees in 2004.
The last time United came up against Galatasaray in competitive action the Turkish side avenged a 1-0 away defeat by recording a 1-0 home win themselves in the group stage of the 2012-13 Champions League.
But the most famous clashes between the two sides came in the early 1990s, with Eric Cantona's sending-off following United's elimination from the Champions League in 1993 remaining an iconic moment.
