Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 Enyimba: Aba Giants Suffer Second Successive Defeat
Enyimba International have suffered their second successive defeat in the CAF Champions League after they were beaten 2-1 by Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria on Wednesday night.
With the development, Mamelodi Sundowns are back at the top in Group B of the CAF Champions League after digging deep to down the Nigeria League champions.
The South Africans who had their win away to ES Setif cancelled after the Algerians were expelled are back in pole position with the win over the two-time African champions.
Leonardo Castro’s strike in the 42nd minute was initially canceled by Dele Ojo’s rasping shot early in the second half but the hosts made sure they got all three points on the night as Arendse tucked the ball into the net in the 77th minute.
Enyimba are now without a win in 2 games and face an uphill task to reach the semi-finals.
