FA willing to wait to appoint Wenger as England manager

Arsene Wenger has emerged as the FA's top choice to take over as England manager, according to the Express.

The FA has refused to rule out the possibility of waiting a year in order to land the best man for the job, which coincides with the expiration of Wenger's contract with Arsenal.

Gareth Southgate is expected to take over as the Three Lions' interim boss, with talks between FA officials Martin Glenn, David Gill and Dan Ashworth beginning at the end of the week to discuss a long-term solution.
