Treble 'not impossible' for Barcelona, says Abidal

Former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal believes the current team have what it takes to win the the treble this season.

The Blaugrana eased into the last four of the Champions League after beating Paris Saint-Germain 5-1 on aggregate, while they remain top of La Liga and are through to the Copa del Rey final, where they will meet Athletic Bilbao.

And Abidal, who won four league titles and two Champions Leagues during his six-year spell at Camp Nou, believes Luis Enrique's men are favourites to reach the final in Europe as they aim to complete a clean sweep of major trophies.

"They showed that they’re in top form against PSG," he said at a charity event presenting his foundation to help children undergoing treatment for cancer.

"I think they're the favourites to go on and reach the final. I really hope they do it and lift the Champions League trophy again.

"Doing the treble is very complicated because in one minute you can suddenly lose a match, but it's not impossible. Football is like that. A good example is Bayern and the way they turned their tie around against Porto."
