Stoke City 1-1 Sunderland: Adam denies Black Cats precious win

Connor Wickham struck inside the first minute for Sunderland before Charlie Adam leveled before the half-hour mark for Stoke City.

Wickham tucked in his fifth goal of the season after Asmir Begovic dropped Will Buckley’s cross inside the six-yard box.

Stoke City responded well after falling behind as Adam scored his second in two games with a wonderful strike from the left of the box into the top corner.

The Potters almost grabbed all three points after the half-time break but Mame Biram Diouf saw his volley well saved by Costel Pantilimon.
