Thegoalmac can reveal that Steven Gerrard is expected to complete a summer move to MLS side LA Galaxy on Wednesday.
The
former England captain met with Galaxy representatives in London on
Tuesday to discuss terms and finalise a switch to the MLS outfit.
Gerrard
announced on Friday that he would be leaving Liverpool after over two
decades with the club before later revealing that he would move to the
USA.
The likes of New York Cosmos and Orlando City had expressed
an interest in signing Gerrard, but David Beckham's former club LA
Galaxy were long considered favourites to seal a deal for the former
England captain.
And Thegoalmac understands that
Gerrard has now agreed personal terms with Bruce Arena's side, with the
MLS Cup holders set to officially announce the deal later on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old midfielder revealed on Tuesday that he would have signed a contract extension with Liverpool if the club had approached him over a new deal.
But
Gerrard will now complete the final part of his last season with the
Reds before jetting off to Los Angeles in July to join up with the
Galaxy during their mid-season transfer window.
