Thegoalmac can reveal that David Silva and Yaya Toure both netted as Manchester City overcame a dogged Crystal Palace to go level on points with Premier League leaders Chelsea.
An
entertaining, but goalless, first half saw both sides go close to
breaking the deadlock, but the reigning champions started the second
period well as Silva's shot deflected off Scott Dann for the opener.
The
Spain international doubled his tally just after the hour mark,
latching on to Aleksandar Kolarov's low drive to tuck home at the near
post.
Palace should have been awarded a way back into the game
shortly afterwards when James McArthur nodded the ball past Joe Hart,
only to be incorrectly flagged offside.
Toure, though, settled
the tie as the game entered the final 10 minutes, finishing off a fine
counter-attacking move with a powerful strike from inside the area.
