Thegoalmac can reveal that Chelsea striker Loic Remy
has hobbled off injured after opening the scoring in the Blues'
Champions League group game against Maribor, making him a doubt for the
weekend game against Manchester United.
The
Frenchman started well in the clash with the Slovenian champions and
gave the home side the lead in the 13th minute with a precise driven
effort from the edge of the penalty area.
Yet he was substituted just two minutes later, having appeared to hurt his groin in the process of shooting.
The
injury means that Remy could join Diego Costa on the sidelines, with
the Spain international also a doubt for the trip to Old Trafford with a
hamstring injury.
Should both players miss out, club legend
Didier Drogba could be given the nod to lead the line against Louis van
Gaal's men, as Chelsea look to extend their lead at the top of the
Premier League table.
