Thegoalmac can reveal that Arsene Wenger admits he has "big concerns" over Arsenal's form after a 2-2 draw with Hull City left them trailing league leaders Chelsea by 11 points.
I taught he still believed Arsenal could still win the league, sincerely if Arsenal is not even careful this season, their usual fourth place will elude them, continue for what he said.
He told reporters: ”It is a big concern we have only won two games, especially with the goals we are conceding.
“I think the performance was quite good, we put ourselves in trouble
because we gave two goals away. We put the heart, the effort in until
the last second.”
Controversy surrounded Hull’s equaliser as
Mohamed Diame appeared to tug Mathieu Flamini back as he embarked on his
run and Wenger suggested it was a poor refereeing decision.
“The first goal is for the referee,” he added.
“The second one is for us.”
“Disappointing afternoon. 80 per cent possession, one point. Very disappointing result.
“We are unlucky with the referee on the first goal, but can only blame
ourselves on the second. I cannot fault the effort, the heart but the
defensive concentration was missing on the second goal.
"You cannot give goals away like that.”
Chelsea ran out 2-1 winners over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park at the
same time to retain their lead at the top of the table, and Wenger
admits the gap to the Blues is worrying.
“Of course, it’s a big concern,” he stated. “The other teams win games and we don’t.
“Sometimes the team that takes the initiative doesn't win. We tried our best and we can only look at ourselves.”
Wenger did have some positive news, though, confirming Jack Wilshere
will be fit for selection for Wednesday’s Champions League trip to
Anderlecht, after hobbling off the pitch injured in the second half.
