Thegoalmac can reveal that France goalkeeper Steve Mandanda believes that keeping Cristiano Ronaldo quiet and off the scoresheet is brilliant for the team's confidence.
One match Ronaldo didn't play well, next thing everybody is talking about it,anyways i think the Ronaldo of Real Madrid is different from the Ronaldo of Portugal though.
One big question is why do you think he doesn't perform well for Portugal consistently like Real?
"It's good for my confidence and good for the team," Mandanda, chosen
to start ahead of usual No.1 Hugo Lloris, who was unfit for Saturday's
game, told L'Equipe. "The fact it's Cristiano Ronaldo gives even more weight to that judgement, of course.
"When we play an international, there's no such thing as a friendly
match. Against opponents as prestigious as Portugal, there is an
obligation to win. There must be a win and that's what we got.
"This allows our momentum to stay high. We are happy but we know there is a long way to go until Euro 2016."
France will be hosting the European Championship in two years,
meaning they have no more competitive clashes until the tournament.
