De Jong:I Want To End My Career At Ac Milan

Nigel De Jong was one of the few shining lights in an otherwise dark 2013-14 campaign for the Rossoneri and was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

I hope he does not change his mind when clubs with more money starts Knocking on his door and maybe he will come out and tell us that the little child in him screamed Leave Milan, because this days footballers are almost like Politicians,Lol,continue...

However, De Jong insists that he never had any desire to leave and revealed that he is now hoping to sign a new deal that would allow him to retire at the Giuseppe Meazza.

"I want to stay at Milan and I repeat that I want to end my career here," the defensive midfielder is quoted as saying by Tuttosport.

"What point are we at with the new contract? I know that the club has contacted my agent and there is an appointment for next week."

De Jong's current focus, though, is on helping Milan maintain their 100 per cent start to the Serie A season by upsetting reigning champions Juventus at San Siro this weekend.

"Juve have won the league title in each of the last three years - we do not have to discover them," the former Manchester City man mused. "In the Champions League they won [against Malmo] and with conviction.

"To have the chance of success we must begin fighting from the first minute. Will it be the first real test for the new Milan? Certainly, but it will also be for them.

"Milan is a club with a history and an extraordinary tradition - if they cannot finish first, then they must always fight to be in the top three.

"I know it is tough, I know that there are many teams as strong and organised as we are, but we have to try."
Milan's eagerly-awaited meeting with Juventus is scheduled to kick off at 20:45 on Saturday.
