Pre-season Recap: Friday Nets Brace On His Debut; Onazi Leads Lazio To Victory

Nigerian striker Fred Friday scored a first-half brace on his debut for AZ Alkmaar who trounced Dutch third-tier side SDV Barneveld 5-0 in a pre-season game on Wednesday.

Friday who was the top scorer in the Norwegian League this season with nine goals before his exit scored in the 10th and 35th minutes of the game.

The former Lillestrom forward became the third Nigerian player to feature for the club after Pius Ikedia and Mike Obiku. He scored 28 goals in 65 appearances for Lillestrom before his move to Holland.

In Italy, Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi captained his side, SS Lazio, to their second pre-season win over Serie B side, Padovaon Wednesday and was pleased to have ended the game without an injury.
The 24 year old Nigeria international who starred for 88 minutes in his second appearance for the Biancocelesti in the current pre-season, admitted that the game was a good test for the club.
Danilo Cataldi's early goal in the fourth minute from the penalty spot was cancelled out by Cristian Altinier in the 28th minute. Filip Djordjevic sealed the win for Lazio three minutes later.

Onazi who scored a brace for Lazio in their 19-0 win over Italian fourth division side, Auronzo last week has since been heavily linked with a move to Turkey.​
