Thegoalmac can reveal that Cesc Fabregas admits he was annoyed with Spain team-mate Sergio Ramos for insinuating his absence from last week’s international matches was due to a lack of commitment and told him to call him to tell him his mind than to the media.
As I said in Mourinho's response to Ramos that we should be expecting round three and here it is, even I thought it will be coming from Ramos not Cesc, that means we should be expecting round four. So to you who would you blame in this saga? A. Ramos, B Mourinho, C Fabregas. Continue to see what Fabregas said.
The Real Madrid defender later claimed his accusation was not aimed at
Fabregas, but the former Arsenal captain revealed he took offence to the
comments nonetheless and instructed Ramos to call him next time he had
an issue rather than run to the media.
"Yes, I felt offended, and told Sergio how I felt," he told Cadena Cope. "We eventually spoke on the phone and all is fine.
"It really irked me that my level of commitment was doubted. I’ve
played many times and been involved in call-ups without playing. I’ve
played 94 games for Spain over the past nine years.
"I had tendinitis in my left hamstring. If I played I could have ended up with an injury not to dissimilar to that of Modric.
"I told Ramos at the time that if he has something to say to me then he
should pick up the phone and call and not send messages via the media.
We’ve been playing together since we were in the Under-21 team
together."
Spain are not due back in action until March 27 when they face Ukraine in a Euro 2016 qualifier.
