Ashley Young has insisted that Manchester United can regain the Premier
League title this season, warning that it would be foolish to write them
off on the basis of their slow start.Continue...
United are yet to win under new manager Louis van Gaal, losing two of
their first three league games and being knocked out of the Capital One
Cup by League One side Milton Keynes Dons.
But Young, who has
operated as a wing-back in Van Gaal's new system, believes the team will
improve as they become accustomed to his methods.
He pointed out
that United had recovered from similar positions before, becoming
champions in 2007-08, despite failing to win any of their first three
league games, and in 2008-09, when they won only one of the first four.
The England international told Inside United: "In previous seasons when we haven't started the season so well, we've gone on to win the league.
"People have written us off already, but everyone here knows you don't write off a club like United.
