Neymar has met up with his old Barcelona colleagues, but he has reaffirmed that his future lies with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 26-year-old Brazil star was back in Spain on a commercial trip and met up with some of the players he called team-mates for the four years he played at Camp Nou.
He made the leap to PSG last summer for a world-record fee of €222 million (£200m/$259m), and though he has been regularly linked with a switch to Real Madrid, has once again committed his future to the Ligue 1 champions.
“I have a contract with PSG and I’ll be there,” he told Mundo Deportivo, before considering the prospect of facing his former colleagues later this season in the Champions League.
“I’ve spoken to almost all the Barca players. We’re very good friends and they’re also very good players. I wouldn’t like it. It would be very difficult.”
He would not be drawn into speaking about another transfer sage, that of Adrien Rabiot, who has been associated with a move to Barca or possibly Juventus, either before the close of the transfer window or when his contract expires at the end of the season.
“I don’t know about it, you’ll have to talk to him,” Neymar said.
Meanwhile, he tipped Arthur to shine for the Catalans, with the youngster having this summer followed in his footsteps of swapping Brazil for the Camp Nou side.
“He’s a great player and I’m sure he’ll give Barca when they deserve,” he said.
Neymar won a string of trophies with the Catalan club, including the Champions League of 2014-15, while he formed the feared ‘MSN’ front three along with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
During his time with the club, he scored 105 goals in 186 appearances, figures that he is already well on course to eclipsing in France.
With PSG, he has found the net 31 times in 34 appearances, including three goals in three Ligue 1 matches this season, despite having failed to find his top gear yet.
