United's Rose pursuit could bloom

Manchester United's hopes of bringing England defender Danny Rose in from Tottenham Hotspur might have been boosted again, according to the Manchester Evening News.
It says Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino's decision to omit Rose from his squad for a second Premier League game in succession has offered encouragement to United ahead as another window looms into view.
Rose, who said he was "fuming" after being omitted for the derby defeat at North London rivals Arsenal, also failed to make the squad for the home game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The Evening News says "the Doncaster-born defender has never disguised his thirst to return to the north of England, and United are continuing to monitor developments."
Were Rose to end up moving to Old Trafford it could have a knock-on effect, with Luke Shaw having recently been reported to be in contention for a loan move to Newcastle.
Shaw has featured only twice as a Carabao Cup substitute this season and could head for St James' Park until the end of the season if Rose comes in.
