Manchester City will rival Manchester United for the signing of Espanyol left-back Aaron Martin, according to ESPN .
Martin was watched by City against Real Betis last week and Pep Guardiola is now considering a January approach following the long-term injury suffered by Benjamin Mendy.
City could face competition for Martin from local rivals United, who have also been tracking the 22-year-old in recent weeks.
