James Rodriguez’s ex-wife: We divorced because he wanted to join Bayern Munich

Daniela Ospina decided to divorce James Rodriguez because he joined Bayern Munich - The Colombian was married to the sister of Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina - James and Daniela seperated over the summer after six years as a married couple James Rodriguez’s ex-wife and sister of Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina they got divorced because the Colombia midfielder wanted to join Bayern Munich. 

The 24-years-old Daniela split from her footballer hubby this summer after a six-year marriage. The two have one daughter together.





Reports had climed the footballer has an affair with model Helga Lovekaty but Daniela says the midfielder's move to Bayern Munich forced the divorce. 

She claimed: “I did not want to travel to Germany because I wanted to continue as an entrepreneur in Colombia and Spain. “James Rodriguez had decided to go to Bayern Munich to give a twist to his career. It was obviously difficult and sad, but thanks to God we have managed it with a lot of maturity and calmness.

“We only want to protect our child because when we decided to have her, we knew it was a lifelong responsibility.

Daniela, the sister of Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina says she and James still have a wonderful relationship.

She said: “Regardless of the things that came between us, we both admire each other, we respect each other and we know that it is important to have a good relationship in order to raise our daughter as she should be raised.

“She is not to blame for the situations that have occurred between us.”
