Tiemoue Bakayoko has revealed that his decision to join Chelsea was partly as a result of Didier Drogba’s influence while at the club.
The 23-year-old made a € 40Million move from Monaco and has hit the ground running, scoring his debut goal in the Champions League game against Qarabag.
And the midfielder who confirmed that he has been a fan of the Stamford Bridge outfit since when he was a kid attributed his choice of club to the Chelsea legend.
''Chelsea has always been a club I liked since I was young, especially because of guys like Didier Drogba being here,'' Bakayoko told Daily Mail.
''I would make a point of watching their games and I had this club close to my heart growing up, so I'm really happy to be wearing their shirt.
“I made the choice to come to Chelsea a lot because of the coach and after speaking to him. And I spoke to the people around me and my family. It seemed like the best opportunity.”
