Atletico Madrid show off new stadium

Atletico Madrid have released images of the exterior of their new stadium

Atletico Madrid showed off their swanky new club crest last week and now they have given their fans another glimpse of the Wanda Metropolitano.
The Spanish giants will move into the 68,000-seater stadium in time for the new season after leaving their Vicente Calderon home.
Atletico Madrid left their old home, which they moved into in 1966, at the end of last season ahead of their summer move.
Work has yet to be completed but it will be ready for the start of the new Spanish season

And Diego Simeone's side are clearly proud of their new base as they have published images of the exterior ahead of the grand opening.
The roof is yet to be completed and work is ongoing on both the interior and exterior of the stadium which was originally built for the 1997 World Athletics Championship.
Barcelona-based contractors Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) have just under six weeks to complete the work as the new La Liga season is scheduled to get under way on the weekend of August 12-13.
Atletico Madrid are yet to know if they will kick-start the new campaign at home or away as the fixtures are released on Thursday, July 20.

Fans of the Spanish outfit will be counting down the days until they can see the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez strut their stuff in the Wanda Metropolitano.
Both Griezmann and Saul were linked with summer moves to Manchester United but decided to pen new deals at Atletico.
Simeone is unable to register new players until January due to the club's transfer ban for breaking regulations regarding signing players under the age of 18.
Summer target Diego Costa is set on a return to Atletico but will not be able to don the famous red and white shirt until the new year if he does complete a move.
Simeone had also targeted France international Alexandre Lacazette but the Lyon forward is closing in on a £44million move to Arsenal due to Atletico's ban.
