Bayern Munich stars Thomas Muller and Mats Hummels go head-to-head in basketball showdown

Bayern Munich duo Thomas Muller and Mats Hummels aren't allowing the end of the football season to curb their sporting obsession, as the two German internationals went head-to-head in a basketball showdown.

Muller took on his Bayern team-mate in a series of basketball tasks, beginning with the mastering of dribbling multiple balls before following onto a shooting drill played under time pressure.
The footage was then uploaded to Muller's personal YouTube account, as part of an ongoing series dubbed #ThoMats Challenge where himself and Hummels pit their abilities against each other across a variety of disciplines.

The challenge kicked off with co-ordinated dribbling, of which Hummels was far superior

Beginning with the dribbling, Hummels soon showed himself to be far superior in co-ordination than his team-mate Muller, effortlessly keeping two balls under control simultaneously while moving back and forth.
For Muller, on the other hand, a comedy of errors soon unfolded, with the dynamic striker losing all rhythm and causing the balls to bounce embarrassingly across the court.

Sadly for Muller his fortunes weren't to improve, as the contest progressed to a shootout. Each player was then tasked with taking three shots in six different positions around the court, with a time limit of 60 seconds keeping them on their toes.
A scoring system comprising three points for a triple, two points from the 'in zone' and one point from the foul line soon saw Hummels once again march into the lead, finishing the task with 15 points in total.

A red-faced Muller checked in with just eight soon after, to the merciless ribbing of his German compatriot.
Bayern will be hoping both Hummels and Muller return refreshed ahead of next season as they bid to defend their German title, though the club have recently been dealt some bad news by former star Toni Kroos.
Speaking in a recent Bild interview, Kroos shut the door on a possible return to Munich later down the line, saying: 'A return is not an option. I had seven wonderful years at Bayern during which we won a lot of silverware.
'Why would you want to rekindle that? The Bayern chapter is over now - as is the chapter Bundesliga.'
