Manchester City star Sergio Aguero backs Golden State Warriors' NBA finals bid after Steph Curry sends striker a signed jersey.
Steph Curry appears to have recruited a new Golden State Warriors fan, Sergio Aguero.
The Manchester City striker got a special signed Golden State jersey from Curry in the post and has thrown his support behind the Bay Area franchise ahead of Thursday night's NBA finals opener.
Posing for picture with his new Warriors jersey on Instagram, Aguero wrote: 'Thank you @stephenCurry30 for the shirt! Best of luck on the finals!
This time around the Warriors have tried to ensure they are not outgunned by James with the addition of superstar Kevin Durant to their roster.
Aguero is a big basketball fan, as he proved on his trip to New York a few years ago when he took part in a pick-up game on a street court.
With the Argentine star Manu Ginobili leaving San Antonio Spurs, Aguero might have been on the lookout for a new team to root for. Perhaps Curry's gift has swung the pendulum in the Warriors' favour.
Aguero is not on the look out for a new team for himself though. Last week City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed he had no intention of letting the striker leave this summer.
The player also reiterated the point when he was asked if he would be staying at the Etihad, he simply replied: 'Me? Yes!'
Then he was asked if he was confirming that he would stay, and said: 'Why not?'
