Alanyaspor of Turkey defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has been awarded the 2016 Turkish Sports Personality of the Year Award.
This comes after the former Nigeria U17 and U20 international put up an impressive performance in Alanyaspor’s 3-0 victory over Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.
The award which was bestowed on the dark-skinned stopper, who is on loan from Chelsea of England, comes in recognition of his contributions in the support of African Entertainers based in Turkey.
In response to the honour, Omeruo wrote on one of his social media handles how happy he was to receive the award and expressed satisfaction with the organisers’ choice.
He wrote on Instagram: Privileged to have received the sports personality award yesterday in the African Entertainment Awards Turkey 🙌🏾🙌🏾
