Tyronne Ebuehi has rejected a chance to feature for the Super Eagles in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Algeria on 12 November.
The 20-year-old full-back was a surprise inclusion in the Nigeria squad but he told his club's website adodenhaag.nl on Monday that the time was not right for him to represent his country as he hopes to settle fully into ADO Den Haag's squad.
Ebuehi has featured in seven of ADO Den Haag's 11 games this season, scoring once and getting one yellow card.
"I see it as a great honour that I am recognised in my homeland," he said.
"I want to focus completely on the club, but I certainly do not rule out that I will honour a possible next call."
"But at this moment ADO Den Haag requires my full attention, especially now that I have settled in the team.
"Therefore, it seems to me that now does not seem the right time to travel to Nigeria for the match.
