Jesse Lingard is set to be handed a new contract at Manchester United that will double his weekly salary to £60,000-per-week, according to the Daily Mail.
The 23-year-old midfielder is a home-grown product of the Red Devils’ academy system, but it was only last season that he finally made the breakthrough at Old Trafford.
Having nailed down a regular role under Louis van Gaal and now Jose Mourinho, while also receiving senior international recognition with England, Lingard’s rise to prominence is set to be rewarded with lucrative fresh terms.
He has just 18 months left to run on his current contract, but is expected to be handed a new four-year deal that will commit his long-term future to the club that helped to put him on a path to the top.
