Chelsea are set to go head-to-head with Manchester United for the signing of Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, according to The Sunday Express.
The 25-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place in Zinedine ZIdane's side despite a number of injuries, and it is thought the Colombia international could finally be ready to call time on his time in Spain.
That has alerted Antonio Conte, who had previously looked in to the possibility of making a move in the summer.
One stumbling block could be Real's potential transfer ban over the next two transfer windows, but the Premier League big hitters are hoping James leaves them no choice and forces his way out.
