Algeria have announced late replacements for three injured players, namely midfielder Rachid Ghezzal and Ryad Boudebouz as well as striker Hilal Soudani before a World Cup qualifier in Nigeria.
Ghezzal and Boudebouz were examined by Algeria team doctors before they were excused from the training camp, while Dynamo Zagreb striker Soudani did not even fly down to Algiers, but his medical record was checked by the national team medical staff.
According to a statement by the Algeria football federation (FAF), three players have been drafted to the squad as a result. They are Baghdad Bounedjah, Yassine Benzia and Ismael Bennacer.
Bounedjah features for Qatari club Al Sadd and he is leading scorer in the league there.
All three replacements were due in camp today (Monday). Algeria will arrive Nigeria on a chartered flight Thursday ahead of Saturday’s showdown in Uyo.
