Aguero left out for Argentina's crunch Brazil test

ergio Aguero will start Thursday's crucial World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Brazil from the bench after Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain were preferred in a two-man attack.

The Manchester City man has struggled for form in his recent international appearances, and missed a penalty for the Albiceleste in their last outing, a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Paraguay.

And with Messi back to fitness after missing October's clashes through injury, coach Edgardo Bauza has opted to play him alongside the Juventus hitman in a conservative starting formation.

Behind the pair, Enzo Perez wins a call-up on the right of midfield, while Javier Mascherano and Lucas Biglia marshal the middle of the pitch and Angel Di Maria plays slightly more advanced on the left.

And in defence, San Lorenzo's Emanuel Mas received the nod to start ahead of Marcos Rojo on the left-hand side.

"I leaned towards Di Maria and Enzo Perez because I think that physically they will be able to keep up our rhythm," Bauza explained to reporters on Wednesday as he confirmed his starting line-up in Belo Horizonte.

"Enzo Perez played in that position two years ago with the national team because it is the spot he first played in.

"More than anything I am thinking about our opponents, and that we cannot repeat the mistakes of other games in which we ended up broken."
