Super Eagles Outcast John Ogu In Line For A Return

John Ogu is now being considered for a recall to the Super Eagles after coach Gernot Rohr was alerted to his performances.

Ogu helped Hapoel Be’er Sheva to win the Israeli league championship last season and he is driving the club’s Europe League campaign this season.

“John Ogu is most likely to return for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria,” an official informed.
“Rohr has a lot more information about the player and he is now favourably disposed to call him up.”
The 28-year-old Ogu last played for Nigeria in an AFCON qualifier.

This season he has made four appearances for the Israeli champions, who are second on the table with 13 points from six matches, three points behind leaders Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Last season, he played 34 matches in the league and scored four goals from his defensive midfield position as Hapoel Be’er Sheva clinched a historic league championship.
