The bill is being said to be an inflated cost based on the fact that a company is acting as intermediary between the airline and the NFF. This alone has caused rumblings and fracas amongst top officials in the Glass House.
According to AfricanFootball, the flight bill should cost no more than $200,000 with questions being raised as to why a local airline is being paid in dollars.
The NFF seems to be jumping from the frying pan to fire as it is being reported top Europe-based stars are gearing up for a confrontational showdown with executives of the NFF after being told to fly on economy class to the capital this week and would be refunded on arrival.
Uncertainty is still trailing this order as these same players are yet to be refunded for the tickets they bought the previous time they came to the country to play against Tanzania in an AFCON qualifier in Uyo.
The logistics department of the NFF would be scratching their heads on trying to sort things out in time. The Super Eagles were meant to depart Abuja on Thursday and get their visas on entry into Zambia but with the players being told to purchase their tickets there is the possibility that the players could fly out later than expected with camp set to eat part of the time.
The Super Eagles take on the Chipolopolos of Zambia on Sunday, 9th of October, 2016.
