Former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Argentina star Javier Saviola is taking an unexpected turn for the next step in his career, as he moves to tiny Andorra to continue playing.
El Conejo failed to impress during a return to first club River Plate in 2015, and cancelled his contract with the Argentine giants in January.
Now 34 and still keen to play, he will turn to the tiny Pyrenees principality and top-flight club Ordino for further game time.
"This is all new to me, I will try to pass on my experience as a player to the youngsters," Saviola told Mundo Deportivo.
According to Diari d'Andorra, Saviola will start work with Ordino's youth divisions as an assistant coach while he regains match sharpness.
Once back to fitness, he may well join the club's first team, who began their 2016-17 Primera Divisio season with a defeat to Lusitanos at the weekend.
