AC Milan have made an approach for Cesc Fabregas but the Chelsea midfielder is not interested in moving to Serie A.
Vincenzo Montella is a fan of the Spain international, who has not started any of the Blues' Premier League games thus far this season, but sources have confirmed that Fabregas is reluctant to leave Stamford Bridge and will subsequently remain at the club until at least January.
Milan recently acquired Croatian midfielder Mario Pasalic from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal and then enquired about a move for Fabregas, who has also been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.
The 29-year-old will now fight for his place under Antonio Conte, having played just 12 minutes of top-flight football in 2016-17.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also working on deals to sign former defender David Luiz from PSG, and have also entered into talks over the possibility of signing Fiorentina full-back Marcos Alonso and Valencia's Aymen Abdennour.
