Arsenal's first Mahrez bid rejected

Arsenal have seen their first bid for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez rejected by the Premier League champions, according to L'Equipe.

The Gunners are keen to bring the PFA Player of the Year to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the first match of the season, and made an initial offer of £30 million for the Algeria international.

But the Foxes are reluctant to sell their star man, though Arsenal are likely to increase their bid to £35m in the coming days.
