Arsenal will not win another Premier League title with Arsene Wenger in charge, according to former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton.
The Gunners’ only major signing this summer has been Granit Xhaka, while Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have strengthened considerably ahead of the new campaign.
And Sutton, who won the Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers in 1995, has slammed Arsene Wenger for showing no intent in the summer transfer window and insists the Frenchman needs to leave in order for the club to progress.
"I just worry about Arsenal again this season. They’ve shown absolutely no intent," Sutton told BBC Five Live.
"I think the board and Wenger are letting the fans down. I just don’t know where Arsenal are going - if I were an Arsenal fan I’d be desperately disappointed.
"They’ve said they are not going to spend, the board are happy, aren’t they? Every year, Champions League football, get the money.
"You’ve got a manager who can chose when he leaves, they’ve got no intent, they had a great chance of winning the league last season, they just don’t spend, and if you’re an Arsenal fan you just think ‘well, it’ll be top four again, we won’t win anything’.
"Then you see Manchester United and Manchester City showing intent, it’s just getting harder and harder, until Wenger goes Arsenal won’t win the Premier League."
