Siasia and his coaching crew have not been paid for five months, while players are yet to receive their bonuses and allowances and while asking for their entitlements to be paid, Siasia said they don’t want to be forced to boycott the Games before they are heard. “We’ve never been encouraged and there is no encouragement coming from anywhere,” he said.
And we are appealing they should pay us our monies before the Games because we don’t want to do what the Super Eagles did where we don’t play until they pay us because that is the only way money comes out of the country and that’s not what we’re trying to do.
“We have suffered too much and we don’t want to hold anyone to ransom but they need to pay us our monies. Five months salary, no allowances till today. That’s not how to take a team anywhere,” he said.“But they need to pay us and we are just appealing to the sports ministry and the government of Buhari. “We’ve not seen any monies till now, there’s no fund at all, no money to do anything for our team and even the tickets to go to Brazil, we don’t even have it till now, we just need to do something for once in our lives.
