OFFICIAL: Schalke agree deal to sign Coke

Schalke are set to complete the signing of Sevilla captain Coke for a reported fee of €3 million.
The 29-year-old will undergo a medical with the Bundesliga club on Monday after agreeing personal terms over the weekend.

The Spanish defender has been a key member of a successful Sevilla side since joining from Rayo Vallecano in 2011, winning three Europa League titles and finishing runner up in the Copa del Rey and UEFA Super Cup.

He is one of a number of high profile players to leave the club, following the likes of Grzegorz Krychowiak, Kevin Gameiro, Ciro Immobile, Ever Banega and Jose Antonio Reyes through the exit door as new coach Jorge Sampaoli revamps his squad.

The German club have been busy in the transfer market this summer having already secured the signatures of £20m man Breel Embolo and defender Naldo.

Schalke finished fifth last season under Andre Breitenreiter, who has since been replaced by Markus Weinzierl.

However, the new coach looks almost certain to lose star player Leroy Sane, who is reportedly ready to join Manchester City.
