The International Champions Cup is fast becoming the must-see event of pre-season, with the competition spanning four continents as a collection of the biggest clubs in world football convene to test their mettle ahead of the new season.
2016 sees reigning European champions Real Madrid joined by every UEFA Champions League-winner from the last decade in a star-studded who’s who of European football.
And fans from around the world are all desperate to be there in person for what promises to be yet another historic off-season to top-class club football.
The best-selling fixture so far remains Liverpool’s ICC clash with Barcelona at Wembley Stadium, London, on August 6, which counts for 86% of the ticket sales to date at online ticket vendor Ticketbis.
It is also currently the match which has seen the most expensive single ticket purchase, with one punter shelling out €589 to see Jurgen Klopp’s men take on the Spanish giants at a historic venue in England’s capital.
The United Kingdom hosts two matches of this year’s ICC, and Ticketbis sales have 77% of purchase going to fans from that country, while 89% of international customers have paid to be in attendance at Wembley.
