Manchester City bounced back from defeat to Arsenal with a 4-1 win over Sunderland on Boxing Day.
Raheem Sterling opened the scoring after 13 minutes, with further goals from Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony easing Manuel Pellegrini’s side into a three-goal half time lead.
Kevin De Bruyne, who created two of the first three goals, added the fourth after the break, with Fabio Borini scoring a consolation for the Black Cats.
Bony missed from the chance to make it five from the penalty spot and City’s win was tainted late on as Vincent Kompany, on as a second half substitute, was forced off injured.
