Felipe Anderson welcomes Barcelona interest

Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson has admitted his interest in a move to Barcelona.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has been a revelation in his second full season in Italy as the Biancocelesti continue their march towards Champions League qualification, hitting 10 goals in 27 Serie A appearances so far.

His form has seen him linked with a host of top European clubs, with Barca reported to be the current front-runners to prize him away from the Italian capital.
"There has been a lot of talk," he told Globo.

"At the moment I’m only thinking about Lazio. However, if an opportunity to play for a big club like Barcelona presented itself, I'd be happy."

Any potential deal to take the Brazilian to Camp Nou would have to wait until Barcelona have served a transfer ban, which will not be lifted until January 2016.

The former Santos man joined Lazio in 2013 after his career appeared to have stalled as he struggled to make the transition from teenage prodigy.

But he has revelled in coach Stefano Pioli's dynamic midfield, inspiring a resurgent Lazio side to the verge of Champions League qualification for the first time since 2008.

"We're having a great season, we have passed Roma to earn second place and we will play them in the derby on the penultimate day," Felipe Anderson continued.

"We will have to stay focused until the absolute end in order to achieve our goal, which is finishing in second place."
Lazio sit one point clear of city rivals Roma with five matches left to play.
