The 35-year-old is no longer an undisputed starter this term, but he played a key role in his side's empathic win at Camp Nou, scoring once and setting up another.
The former Spain international has been heavily linked with a move away from Barca at the end of the season, but Luis Enrique hopes Xavi will stay put for another year.
"I have known Xavi since I was a player and he was just coming up from the youth team," Luis Enrique told reporters.
"He’s a player from another galaxy and he can play as long as he wants.
"He’s very strong physically. Get the ball to him and he’ll always get it back to you, he never loses that quality.
"We all know how much Barca means to him and he’ll decide to do what’s best for Barca."
Xavi, who has scored twice in 27 Liga appearances this campaign, has a contract with the Primera Division leaders until June 2016.
