West Brom 0-0 Liverpool: Balotelli starts but Reds fail to fire

Liverpool were unable to regain ground in the race for the top four as they played out a 0-0 draw with West Brom on Saturday.

The first half of the Premier League encounter was a dull affair, despite the Reds' dominance, but both sides had chances to win it after the break.

A magnificent double save from Boaz Myhill kept the Baggies level just before the hour, while Mario Balotelli hit the bar, but the hosts saw a marvellous Craig Gardner volley hit the side netting and had James Morrison's header cleared off the line.
