Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has been ruled out of Tuesday's Champions League clash against Barcelona after failing to recover from a thigh problem.
The Brazil international sustained the injury in the 21st-minute of
the quarter-final, first-leg defeat at the Parc des Princes and missed
the weekend Ligue 1 clash against Nice.
He was included in the initial squad for the trip to Spain but will instead remain in Paris to work on his rehabilitation.
A PSG statement read: "Having initially being named in the squad for
the quarter-final against Barcelona, Brazilian defender Thiago Silva
will not ultimately make the trip.
"The captain of Paris Saint-Germain will therefore remain at the Ooredoo training centre to work on his return to action."
PSG are already without the injured Thiago Motta and suspended Serge
Aurier as they attempt to overcome a 3-1 deficit from the first game.
They will, however, welcome back Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco
Verratti, who both sat out the first leg as they served one-match bans.
