Suarez: My job is to help Messi & Neymar

Luis Suarez says it is a Barcelona player's duty to help Lionel Messi and Neymar perform to the best of their abilities.

Suarez signed for the Catalans last summer from Liverpool and, after a slow start, has now formed an enviable attacking trio alongside Messi and Neymar.

The 28-year-old is adamant, however, that his and everybody else's job at Camp Nou is to ensure the Argentine and Brazilian are afforded as much of an opportunity to damage the opposition as possible.

"Life at Barcelona is about adapting to the way Leo and Neymar play and the moves they make, and trying to make things easier for them," Suarez told Uefa.com.

"They are incredible players, but you work to support the team regardless of who is playing that day. Everybody feels comfortable in their role of helping Messi and Neymar play their best game.

"There are situations where we have maybe two or three players in attack to distract the defence."
Suarez also suggested part of the reason he chose to leave Liverpool for his “dream” club was that he could not imagine he'd ever win a continental trophy while an Anfield.

"I've always wanted to play at Barcelona," the Uruguayan continued. "It was a dream come true. Everything is fine here now.

"In the first few months you have to get to know your new team-mates, but I am very happy with everything here now.

"Of course the allure of winning the Champions League was part of the reason I joined Barca. They are always a candidate to win it.
"That's a plus here, as the clubs I've played for before didn't really have the chance to win big European trophies - maybe a domestic league or cup at best.
"Playing in a team like this, where all the players want to win every match and everything, that is a sign that it's all about silverware - whether it's the Champions League, La Liga or whichever trophy's available.
"We have a chance of making the Champions League final this season."
Barca will need to knock out Paris Saint-Germain - who eliminated Chelsea in the last 16 - in the quarter-finals if they hope to be featuring in the final in Berlin.
The first leg is on Wednesday at Parc des Princes before the return tie at Camp Nou six days later.
